In late March 2013, the U.S. District Court of Appeals reaffirmed the criminal convictions against Khristine Eroshevich, the psychiatrist who treated actress-model Anna Nicole Smith.

Eroshevich was initially convicted on October 28, 2010 of four misdemeanors: conspiring to commit the crime of obtaining a controlled substance by false name or address; issuing a prescription that is false or fictitious; obtaining a prescription of opiates by fraud, deceit or misrepresentation and obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address.

These convictions relate to prescriptions that Eroshevich wrote for drugs for Smith, who died in February 2007 of acute combined drug toxicity.

The conviction was later laid aside by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge but the Los Angeles County prosecutors appealed and ultimately prevailed.
