Psychiatrist Meera Goyal reprimanded over criminal conviction

Filed under: Uncategorized — Psych Crime Reporter @ 4:03 pm

On February 12, 2013, the Florida Board of Medicine reprimanded psychiatrist Meera Kumari Goyal.

The Board’s administrative complaint against Goyal states that Goyal was convicted in February 2008 in a New York court of criminal possession of a controlled substance and falsifying business records.

In February 2009, the New York State Board for Professional Medical Conduct subsequently censured and reprimanded Goyal, placed her probation for five years and precluded her from prescribing, order, dispensing or administering any medications to herself or her family.

Goyal must also pay the Florida Board’s costs of $2,893.22, a fine of $3,000 and is subject to other conditions listed in the Board’s order.
